President’s College is on TOP onces more!

President’s College (PC) student Linbert Lewis has emerged as the country’s top student at the May/June sitting of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations with 12 grade ones including nine distinctions. Four other students at PC copped more than nine grade ones.
The 16-year-old of Onverwagt, West Coast Berbice said in an interview last evening that he was “elated, a bit surprised and kind of shocked when a teacher from the school called and gave me my results Monday night. I can only thank God who is in charge and who provided the wonderful teachers and the support from the school.”
This being the twentieth anniversary of the school and the fact that there has been negative publicity recently, the fire that destroyed the dormitory and talk that the standard of the school was falling, he said, motivated him as well as other students and teachers. “There are a lot of misconceptions about the school but there is potential and I daresay that the teachers saw that in us and challenged us. Even our house parent was like a mother in the absence of our parents. It was just a matter of time” he said, adding that the results are a present of sorts for the school’s anniversary. Read more
